Christopher Hallowell is a professor of English and journalism at Baruch College, City University of New York, and is the author of Growing Old, Staying Young , a book about aging and gerontological research published by William Morrow & Co. He is the author of People of the Bayou, and coauthor and editor of Listening to Earth and Green Perspectives.
Professor Hallowell has been on the staffs of numerous magazines as an environmental or science editor and has contributed articles to Time, The New York Times Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, Audubon, Geo, Natural History and The American Scholar.
A former director of undergraduate journalism at Baruch College, Professor Hallowell is a graduate of Harvard and received an MS in journalism from Columbia. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
