Carrie Brown is a cultural historian who specializes in exploring the human story behind historic events, artistic creation, and technological change. She is a freelance museum curator and has mounted exhibitions on Maxfield Parrish, the bicycle, the early automobile, the air age, and the cultural impact of the introduction of interchangeable parts.
Ms. Brown is the author of Rosie's Mom: Forgotten Women Workers of the First World War (Northeastern University Press, 2002), The Tall Tale in American Folklore and Literature, many magazine articles, and several award-winning exhibition catalogues. She lives in Etna, New Hampshire.
