Walter C. Grantz was chief engineer for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel District. He spent nearly forty years working on tunnels and marine structures for Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade and Douglas, Inc.
Much of Mr. Grantz's career focused on the design and construction of immersed tunnels including the fabrication, transportation, and installation of steel immersed tunnel elements – the type used most commonly in the United States.
